- The Zanzibar Gem is drought tolerant due to the potato like rhizome that stores water.
- The glossy leaves are up to 60cm long, succulent and pinnate with 6-8 pairs of elliptic-ovate leaflets which are broadest in the middle.
- Due to its water storing nature you don't have to water your Zanzibar Gem very often. Allow it to completely dry out between watering
- Position in bright indirect sunlight for your plant to thrive but can do well in low light levels too.
The Zamiculcas zamiifolia is native to Eastern and South Africa. This tropical perennial plant is commonly called Zanzibar Gem, ZZ Plant, Zulu Plant or Emerald Palm. A herbaceous plant growing up to 60cm tall, from a stout underground succulent rhizome.
