This eye-catching plant is native to Burma (not Persia as the name may leave you to believe). With striking purple leaves which has an almost iridescent sheen. This plant is a winner. Natural to tropical climates the Persian Shield also does well in cooler climates and is a popular houseplant as it tends to bloom in winter.
