Sweet Peas - Are beautifully scented and colourful. Tall growing varieties are ideal against a fence in a sunny position. Cover with Yates Seed Raising Mix and keep moist, but avoid over-wetting.

Lettuces - Are easy to grow, but needs to be grown quickly for crisp, tender hearts. Prepare the bed by adding a pre-planting fertiliser, then water regularly and thoroughly.

Trim any summer-flowering shrubs and climbers that have finished blooming.

Where soils are heavy, spread Yates Gypsum Claybreaker. If possible, dig it into the soil.

Cut back geraniums with spotty, diseased leaves. Spray with Baycor fungicide.
