Petunias - Are free-flowering plants in a magnificent array of colours. Continuous blooming over a long period. Sow into trays of Yates Seed Raising Mix. Firm down and keep moist. Keep trays in a warm place or cover with glass. Than transplant in a sunny well drained position.

October's a perfect month for planting vegetables such as tomatoes, zucchinis and sweet corn.

When you're sure that frosts have finished for the year, prune frost-damaged parts of plants.

Fertilise potted plants with Thrive Soluble Plant Food. Repot if the roots are crowded.

Set traps (pots filled with crumpled newspaper) to catch earwigs. Spray with Baythroid.
