How to Choose Polar Windows

 How to Choose Windows and Components

Select from a range of windows.

 

Available as Fixed and Openable. Note: 1200mm x 1545mm window only available as fixed.

Select a colour.

 

White Birch, & Black available in store Silver Grey available via Special Orders.

If you select an Openable Window determine how your window will be opened.

 

Window can be either casement or awning style.

If you selected an Openable Window select Handle/s. Handles are available for either left hand or right hand Openable Windows.

 

Cam Handles are used to operate openable windows. (600mm x 1200mm or larger require 2 x Cam Handles)

Select Joiner/s (If applicable).

 

Joiners are used to connect two or more windows together.

Select Reveal Fin/s.

 

Reveal Fins are used to attach your selected reveal timber to the window frame.

Select Sub Sill Fin/s.

 

Sub Sill Fins are used as a lower reveal fin that ensures water is channelled to the outside of your home through a drainage system.

Add your selected Reveal Timber.

 

Reveals are the visable part of each side of a window. Usually painted.

     
 
Materials & Tools Required

 

   Use the following list as a guide to assist in the successful assembly and installation of your Polar Eco-View Windows.

 

  • Rubber mallet
  • Hammer
  • Cordless drill
  • Philips head screwdriver
  • Caulking gun/silicone
  • Pencil
  • Tape Measure 
  • Spirit level
  • Saw (if required to cut reveals to length)
  • Safety gear- dust mask, ear and eye protection.
 
Handy Hints

 

 

  • To assist in the assembly process ensure you assemble your window/s on a level or flat surface.
  • To avoid marking or scratching your windows the supplied cardboard box can be used to provide a non-marking flat surface.
  • Only ever use a rubber mallet when assisting the insertion of a joiner or reveal fin. Never use a metal hammer.
  • Once the cam handle is fitted ensure it is in the closed position to avoid the window from opening and to avoid damage whilst assembling.
  • The Polar static window film applied to all windows must face outwards once installed.
  • Double Glazed Windows are heavy. Use correct lifting techniques when moving cartons and windows into position.
