Victorian Bushfire Appeal

In the wake of the devastating bushfires, Bunnings Warehouse stores across Australia and New Zealand joined forces to stage a fundraising appeal commencing Monday 9th February.

Every cent raised will be used to provide assistance to individuals and communities in towns and suburbs affected by the 2009 Victorian bushfires. An independent panel made up of community leaders will oversee the Appeal Funds operation.

Please note: Red Cross will not deduct any costs from public donations to cover Appeal costs. All interest earned on donations will be invested back into the Appeal. Should the funds raised exceed the amount required to meet these needs, any excess funds will be used to assist in future disasters in Victoria.

Following the recent bushfires in Victoria, Bunnings undertook a range of initiatives to support those people whose lives were affected. This included the donation of product to various CFA/SES command and relief centres across the state and joint efforts with our key suppliers to raise funds and source much needed products.

Bunnings Warehouse stores in Victoria and nearby areas held daily sausage sizzles during the week after the fires, with every cent raised going directly to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund. All Bunnings Australian stores were also official collection points for Appeal cash donations.

On Saturday 14th February, fundraising sausage sizzles were held at every Bunnings store in Australia and New Zealand.

Work required to assist in the rebuilding phase is where Bunnings is now focussing. This work will be ongoing for many months.
